Definition Of:

Dada

A Brush With Greatness GlossaryA Brush With Greatness Glossary
An early twentieth century art movement born as a consequence of the collapse of social and moral values during World War I. The Dada movement ridiculed contemporary culture and traditional art forms. Dada artists' works, while irrational and critical, could also be playful and intuitive. Dadaists typically produced art objects in unconventional forms produced by unconventional methods, sometimes employing chance accidents as a means of production. Many artists associated with this movement later became associated with Surrealism. Max Ernst, Man Ray, Max Ernst and Marcel Duchamp were Dadaists.
