An art movement dominant in Germany from 1905-1925, in which the quality of inner experience; the emotions of the artist are expressed through emphasis and distortion. The artists expresses what they have within themselves instead of what can actually be seen with the eyes. A few examples of Expressionists are Die Brücke, Francisco de Goya, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin.
